Ine Walking Tour
expert: Kyoto by the Sea DMO trained local guide
Guided by a local, guests will experience Ine from both the land and water. Ine is an active fishing village, where people wake up early and go to sleep early. Its a very small community and the fishing village area has a few hundred boathouses and mainhouses surrounding a horseshoe-shaped bay. Fishing is life, and the boathouses that are built on the water are a reflection of that. The guide will share why Ine is so unique and how it has managed to survive for hundreds of years. Guests will walk the narrow streets, visit a boathouse open to the public, and ride a small sea taxi around the bay to see it the way fishery workers see it, from the water.
The tour is 90 minutes long and includes entrance to a boathouse, a sea taxi ride, and guided walk with local expert through the town.
