Hot Spring Accommodations in Kyoto by the sea

Located on the canal, and so close to Amanohashidate that you can smell the pine trees from your private veranda, this ryokan has both Japanese and western styled rooms, as well as natural hot springs. The newly renovated wing features large suites with gorgeous views, private baths and decks overlooking one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views.

Just steps away from the rotating bridge that takes you to the Amanohashidate land bridge (one of Japan's three scenic views), this Japanese inn offers incredible views from the guest rooms, Japanese decor, and local cuisine. Taikyourou is on a charming stone street that leads up to Chionji Temple of Wisdom. There are shops, restaurants, as well as places to take boat rides or rent bicycles nearby. Centrale Hotel Kyotango

located in Kyotango near UNESCO Global Geopark and SILK HERITAGE area

Sitting on a hill overlooking the town of Omiya, Centrale offers fantastic dining, natural hot springs, and spacious rooms. There is even a large lawn and chapel where weddings are often held. The facility can accommodate large groups and banquets. The property has tennis courts, lavender fields that you can enjoy cutting to make souvenirs when in season. The gift shop offers a variety of local products, as well as Centrale-made products (some of which include lavender).

Ukawa Onsen (Yoshino no Sato)

located along the UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK in Kyotango

Ukawa Onsen (also called Yoshino no Sato) sits on a hill overlooking the Japanese Sea, with baths separated by sex that oppositely face the sea or bamboo forest. The sides change daily so both men and women have a chance to find their favorite side. The baths are open to the public but guests spending the night at the inn have special hours that extend past close and open early in the morning. The onsen has accommodations perfect for couples, families, or even groups. With two restaurants on-site, and activities such as bicycle rentals, lavender picking, a recreation room, and reading nook, you could easily spend an entire weekend here. Pristine beaches are only a 10 minute walk away or 2-5 minute drive. There is also a gift shop that sells local products like sake, fresh-grown produce, drinks, snacks, and souvenirs.

Mansukero is a perfectly situated hot spring ryokan, set right along Hatchohama beach, an area with an expansive park, beautiful beaches for swimming, surfing, and other water activities. The path across the street from the inn offers romantic sunsets that reflect off the Japanese Sea. It is walking distance from a few restaurants as well, but the cuisine here is impeccable, specializing in local ingredients.
